Xcel Energy officials say power has been restored to nearly all of the 872 customers who lost lights at 10:19 a.m. Friday.
Authorities say power was restored to most customers, including the airport and all businesses along Horizon Drive, at 11:05 a.m. There is a small triangle of residences still without power in the 27 Road, H Road, north side of Horizon Drive area. Xcel Energy spokesman Fred Eggleston says power is expected to be restored there in about an hour.
Eggleston says the cause of the outage was bad underground cable.
This isn't the first time power has gone out along Horizon Drive. In fact, far from it.
We've reported on power problems in the area in the last four years.
Xcel has told 11 News they have replaced the north side cables but it will be at least January before they are able to replace the south side.
