Throughout the month of July, 11 News reporters will show you what it means when we say 11 Cares. They'll be bringing you inspirational stories that have special meaning to them while they highlight the great people who live here and the wonderful things happening in our community.

11 News Repoter Stephanie Collins introduces you to a local pilot who has been flying for over 40 years and donates his time, money, plane and fuel to Angel Flight West.

Angel Flight provides free air transportation to patients that need specialized medical treatment far from their home. For Pilot, Bill Pitts the reward he gets from helping out someone in need far outweighs any out of pocket cost to him.

Bill's efforts and dedication inspired Stephanie to profile him as a special member of our community, "I find it so refreshing that with gas prices still kind of high and the economy struggling to recover, volunteer pilots are donating their time, money and aircraft to help others. That kind of commitment and contribution deserves to be covered and that is why I choose to do this story."

This 11 Cares for Health Special Report airs Monday, July 27th at 10:00 p.m.
