Grand Junction Police are investigating a stabbing and robbery in the parking lot of the Quality Inn on Horizon Drive.

Just after 1 a.m. Wednesday, two men checked into the hotel and were unloading luggage when they say four men in a black Cadillac Escalade
came up to them and robbed them.

Authorities say one victim was stabbed in the hand during the robbery. He was taken to the hospital.

The four suspects left in the Escalade and headed toward I-70. They are described as Hispanic men. The victims say the man with the knife was wearing an orange t-shirt, tan shorts, tennis shoes and has a mustache. The Escalade may have had an orange circle in the center of the license plate.

Earlier reports indicated the vehicle might have matched that wanted in connection with a domestic violence case on Tuesday. Police Spokeswoman Kate Porras says after investigation there is no information that links the two incidents.
