Three members of the Grand Junction Republican's staff will take
10 unpaid days off and two will take five days each to save $10,120.
Penry, the Senate Minority leader and a candidate for Governor, told the Denver Post Tuesday that he plans to take a pay cut, but the logistics are still being worked out.
His annual legislative salary is $30,000.
He's eligible for up to $18,000 for expenses during the session.
State employees will have to take four unpaid days off from
September through December to help cover a nearly $400 million shortfall.
Gov. Bill Ritter has said he'll return $1,254.32-that's four days' pay- to the state treasury.
