The Mesa County Sheriff's Department has confirmed the identities of the two suspects involved in the shooting in Clifton Tuesday night.

Officials say Michael James Simpson, 24, has been arrested in connection with the shooting that left one person dead and three others wounded. He could face charges of 1st degree murder and assault, among others. His bond has been set at $1 million.

The second suspect, Joshua Eugene Cole, 25, is facing six charges, including obstructing justice and possession of a dangerous weapon. He could also face accessory to murder charges. His bond has been set at $500,000.

The two are being held in connection with the Tuesday night murder of 50-year-old Marco Ramon Acosta-Estrella of Mexico. Officials say the victim was at a child's birthday when the shooting happened. Authorities say three others were also injured, but their identities have not been released. They were all released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Well people change and the truth of the matter is that he walked through their front door with a loaded 9mm pistol and yelled racial slurs and opened fire. What about the kind fellow that just got popped by your pill popping big-hearted teddybear, hard to believe Nazi Murderer. What if it would of been your family he turned on due to his substance problem????????Kudos to the sheriff's dept. for charging the murderer with a HATE-CRIME, hope all the people can't believe he did it send the poor soul commissary money.

I agree, I also know Michael and he has a kind heart. He is a child magnet, he loves kids and they love the big teddy bear, MJ. There are so many unanswered questions and it's sad that the community and police decided so quickly to judge without actual evidence accept that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I pray that the real shooter will be found as I do not beleive that it could be Michael. God bless his family

This is very odd. I've known both ""Suspects"" and still.. I am having a very hard time believing that M-Simpson would have done this. Just because he has a wrap sheet does not mean he would do this.. I also read about the suspects yelling in spanish as they peeled off.. Neither of the suspects knew spanish.
