Funeral services for fallen hero Sgt. David Kinterknecht continue this morning.
Hundreds of people are were at Sgt. Kinterknecht’s funeral. The 1,500-seat gymnasium at Montrose High School was full and at least 300 people were watching by a video hookup in an auxiliary gym.
Kinterknecht was remembered not only as a police officer, but a father, uncle and friend. His nephew read the eulogy to start the ceremony and his brother in law spoke along with other members of the family.
Graveside services will continue the celebration of Kinterknecht's life as friends and family start making their way to the cemetery from the high school Graveside services will be held at Cedar Cemetery on East Miami Road. Montrose City offices will be closed from 11:30 to 1 p.m. so employees can attend.
