Grand Junction is not only taking center stage nationally for the President’s visit, it’s getting national attention for its unique health care system.

The city has been featured in the New Yorker Magazine.

The LA Times and several other national media outlets.

It is sixth in the nation for lowest health care costs and has one of the lowest hospital re-admittance rates for Medicare patients.

Doctors day it’s all about teamwork and a focus on care, not money.

Officials say non-profit HMOs are rare and here in Grand Junction Rocky Mountain Health Care Plans has helped people save money.

They also cite a shared medical records database for a more efficient system in the city.

The most important question of ocourse is: " How will the health plan improve on an award winning service we already have. Will it replace it or make it harder to get service or pay for the services? We don't need more do we? Do we want the interference or directions. PLease ask some Republicas too , not just agreeable Democrats. YOur plan to seat more dems than republican is Unamerican,.
