A new baby store called “Bibs to Cribs” is opening up shop at 545 North Avenue in Grand Junction, but turns out the store wasn’t the brainchild of high retail hopes, but instead was born out of a community's need and a family working to come out of hard times on top.
Penny Schied says within a year, she and three others in her family lost their jobs in the oil and gas industry, "it's been an emotional year, yeah, but we've always been survivors, and so we sat down and decided what we needed to do and moved on".
She says the family decided help launch daughter Katie Scheid’s idea, a gently-used baby goods store.
Not only is the store a family effort, but the Scheids say it will also fill a need in the community for lower-priced baby goods.
The store will officially open on Wednesday, August 26th at 9:00 a.m.
