Free hunting classes in Grand Junction

Local wildlife conservation groups are teaming up with the Colorado Division of Wildlife to offer free clinic for beginning hunters.

The local committee of the Colorado Mule Deer Association will host a free 'Mule Deer Hunting 101' clinic Monday, August 24 at the DOW Grand Junction Hunter Education Building, 711 Independent Avenue.

The clinic will cover a variety of topics including mule deer biology and habits, hunting strategies, equipment, and local deer hunting opportunities.

'Elk Hunting 101' is Tuesday, and 'Waterfowl Hunting 101' is Friday.
