A bear sighting in a frequently visited spot on the Colorado National Monument has staff asking visitors to take a few extra precautions.

Officials have confirmed that last Thursday, a Black Bear was spotted near Devil’s Kitchen.

They say it quickly left the area and went toward BLM land outside the park.

Because of the sighting, signs have been put up asking people to keep an eye out for any bears and are urging visitors to pick up all trash or other items that might attract them to the area.
