The Grand Junction Lions Club gives a big check to a local organization in need.

The Lions Club presented the Western Colorado Conservation Corp of Partners with a check for $20,000 at its meeting Tuesday afternoon at Two Rivers Convention Center.

The Conservation Corp offers young adults the opportunity to work and learn in outdoor settings by doing service projects.

The Grand Junction Lions Club has already donated $135,000 to local non-profit groups so far this year.
