Mesa State College and the Grand Junction Police Department are working together to prevent theft.
The two are working together using a program called Operation ID.
The program encourages Mesa State students, faculty and employees to register valuables to that if they’re lost or stolen, they can be identified later.
The program works for laptops, iPods, anything with a serial number.
Officials with the Grand Junction Police Department say it makes for a great partnership.
The program is free and officers say they’ve had quite a number of successful recoveries.
The program is also available to students who live off-campus.
