Local business owner considers congressional run, schedules Listening Tour

The owner of three local businesses is considering a congressional run and has scheduled a Listening Tour to talk with potential constituents.

Ray Scott, owner of Gas Products Corporation, Coolwater Homes and Skyline Warehouse in Grand Junction, has formed an Exploratory Committee and is scheduling meetings during a Listening Tour as he considers running for the 3rd Congressional District seat currently held by Democrat John Salazar.

Scott, a Republican, says he has successful business experience and appreciates the challenges facing Colorado residents and business owners.

The Listening Tour is Scott's attempt to learn more about the concerns of Colorado's citizens and what they expect of their representative, he says. He adds that it's not a step he'd take lightly should he elect to run. He says his consideration of running is motivated by what he and others see as a frustrating lack of change for Colorado.
