A Grand Junction man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl was sentenced Monday morning after reaching a plea agreement.
Kip Lintner originally pleaded not guilty to the crime, but the agreement was reached after the DA told the judge the victim was “scared to death to testify.”
Lintner will serve five years in Community Corrections and 25 years to life on probation.
Right now he’s in jail, awaiting a bed opening at Community Corrections. That could take 75 days.
Lintner is also required to undergo sex offender treatment and he cannot have contact with kids under 18.
The Court has yet to determine whether or not he can even have contact with his own children, who are under 18.
He also owes $5,500 in court fees.
Lintner was arrested by Grand Junction Police after a two-year investigation.
His arrest affidavit describes a lengthy and graphic relationship between Lintner and the 9-year-old girl.
