The Grand Junction Fire Department is calling a motor home a total loss after fire tore through it Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called out to a vacant lot off of Highway 6 & 50 just after 2:00pm on reports that a motor home was engulfed in flames and black smoke.
Officials say crews were able to extinguish the blaze quickly after arriving, but not before "significant" damage was done.
Damage to the motor home is estimated at $5,000. Officials say a car next to it was also damaged, but the extent is unknown at this time.
Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
No one was in the motor home at the time and no one was injured.
