One Color Sunday is this weekend but the Aspen leaves haven't reached their peak yet.
The first of two Color Sundays this year is Sunday, Sept. 20. The other is Sunday, Sept. 27. But thee fall colors we love so much are having a bit of trouble showing their true autumn colors.
Sarah Allen, marketing and communications director for Powderhorn Resort, is optimistic this dreary weather is the answer. "This wet weather and cooler temperatures lately should really help the colors move along into that big show they put on for us every year," she says.
The National Weather Service says there will be scattered storms across the area through Thursday. Then the temperatures will rise again to the mid to low 80's just in time for a pleasant Color Sunday this weekend.
Powderhorn's main lift will be open for Color Sunday and visitors will enjoy live music and fun activities for the kids all day long. You can check out the colors before heading out by clicking on the link to Powderhorn's Web cam below.
