It's Mesa County or bust for the Colorado Pro Rodeo Association this weekend.
They're joining the Mesa County Sheriff's Posse for the 2009 Finals, where some of the best riders in the state will compete for cash.
The events start Friday night at 7 p.m., and continue through the weekend. See below for the full schedule and the price.
The folks who ride in these finals have been competing in rodeos throughout the state all year. These riders have also voted on the best animals from throughout the year, to help make the competition tougher, which means more points and more cash.
All proceeds from the rodeo this weekend go to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Posse, an all-volunteer search and rescue group that uses horses to reach places that ATVs and cars can’t go.
Friday is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night, so a portion of the proceeds from the events will go to the Grand Junction Junior Service League to help with breast cancer research in our community.
