Look for a lower figure on your Xcel natural gas bill next quarter.

Xcel Energy estimates natural gas bill for the fourth quarter of 2009 will be seven to nine percent lower than they were in the fourth quarter of 2008.

Both residential and commercial bills are expected to be lower.

The average resident will pay a little more than $70 compared to nearly $80 last year.

Businesses will likely see an average bill of less than $310, they paid more than $330 in 2008.

Xcel officials say the company doesn’t profit from natural gas sales and passes rate increases and decreases on to consumers.
