GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Paying a dollar for a dog or some cash for a cat will go a long way with the Roice-Hurst Humane Society Fall fundraiser kick off.
Animal lovers can buy a paper paw for one dollar at participating businesses in the Grand Valley and at Roice-Hurst.
Proceeds go to the shelter to help homeless pets until they find a family to adopt them.
October is national adopt a shelter dog month and the 5th annual event is helping drive the shelter's mission to get pets in good homes.
Last year the fundraiser raised $4,000 and officials say this year they are expecting more.
