Time is running out to take advantage of the first-time home buyers tax credit.
The government program that has given first-time home buyers an eight thousand dollar tax credit ends on November 30Th.
Local Realtors said it is crucial for home buyers to have their paperwork approved prior to the deadline. That leaves a matter of weeks to search for a new home.
"The Lenders are going to have a tough time closing everybody right at the deadline of November 30. So I would say to start shopping immediately and get the paperwork done right away," said Erika Doyle of Doyle and Associates.
On Capitol Hill there's talk of a six month extension for the credit, not nothing has been finalized.
