The Palisade Chamber of Commerce is calling this year’s Peach Fest a huge success, citing the record crowds that attended the 41st annual event.

Officials say more than 31,000 people attended this year, that’s up 9 percent over last year.

Organizers say a number of new attractions at this year’s Peach Fest, including an Alpaca Showcase, a miniature train and more events downtown all helped boost number.

They add that the President’s visit to Grand Junction, which coincided with Peach Fest, also may have played a role.
