Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies are taking part in an H1N1 Outbreak training simulation in Carbondale this week.
The two-day exercise includes 25 law enforcement and emergency responder agencies from around the state, including Mesa, Garfield and Eagle Counties.
Hospitals and other outside agencies have also signed on to take part in the simulation.
A representative for the exercise says they plan to focus on all aspects of responding to an H1N1 outbreak.
The training also stresses the importance of inter-agency training, teaching different agencies to work together more effectively in case of an emergency.
