Think you can balance Colorado's state budget? Here's your chance.
Colorado State University has created an online simulator allowing you to try to cut a $700 million budget deficit.
The link for the simulator is below.
Be sure to post how much you cut down the deficit, and how you did it!
Remember it is only a "game", but the school hopes it gives residents an idea of how hard it is to raise taxes or cut programs.
There are several different state departments you can look at, from human services to corrections, and you choose to either cut or increase spending.
Then, there are several types of revenue streams, from personal income tax to alcohol and tobacco tax, you choose to increase or lower as well.
Your main goal, get the deficit down as far as you can go, aiming to get a state surplus.
So, there you go, time to step into Governor Bill Ritter's shoes and get Colorado back in black.

The most overlooked source of income is prisoner labor! Put the inmates to work, they are the property of the state, so they should work for the state. Instead of letting them sit around and we pay for them.
