Investigators say a teenaged girl is recovering after jumping out of a moving pickup truck.

They say as soon as she jumped out and landed in the road, an SUV traveling behind the pickup had to swerve to avoid hitting her.

It happened on River Road near Blue Water Road Monday evening.

The girl was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the incident.
