A truck hauling aluminum tar for roofing spilled its load into I–70 near Palisade Monday afternoon.
Traffic headed westbound was down to one lane while it was cleaned up.
Troopers say the tar made the road slick, causing one car to hit a cement barrier.
C–DOT crews cleaned up the mess before opening the lanes back up.
