A convicted sex offender is back behind bars after police say he tried to entice an elementary school student.

Police say Tuesday morning a teacher’s aid for Clifton Elementary School saw Edward Pomeroy talking to four kids at a bus stop near 33 Road and Lombardy Lane.

Police say the kids told them Pomeroy asked them for money and one little girl said he asked her to come with him.

Pomeroy was found at the Clifton Starvin’ Arvin’s, apparently drunk and urinating in public.

Pomeroy told police he was just talking with the kids to get them to move out of the road and into a safe place.

According to an arrest affidavit, in 1997 Pomeroy was convicted of third degree sexual assault and he has been the subject of other investigations.

He will appear in court later Wednesday.

edward pomeroy is not a sex offender! he's just has a few mental problems and poor. subject to be bothered by the community he lives in, because he doesn't have the ability to defend himself and doesn't even know he needs to.
