A convicted sex offender is back behind bars after police say he tried to entice an elementary school student near a school bus stop Thursday morning.

Officials say with this incident, it’s a good time to remind parents about telling their kids to be careful at the bus stop.

Here are some guidelines to follow:

One, give kids light-colored or reflective clothing to wear so cars can see them.

Two, try to have at least one parent there at all times until the bus comes to pick them up.

And three, remind them to never talk to strangers who may approach them while waiting for the bus.
