After growing from a rural to urban area, some Clifton and Fruitvale residents are looking to annex into Grand Junction and in the county's first public forum there was much debate.
The crowd in the Grand Mesa Elementary School cafeteria certainly had their questions, hearing about the area proposed to be phased first into the city.
That area is everything south of Interstate 70 and west of Highway 6 & 50.
From polls done by the county earlier this year, area residents are about 50/50 on the idea of annexation.
There are two more neighborhood meetings scheduled for next week:
Tuesday, Oct. 13
Clifton Elementary School (3276 F Road)
Thursday, Oct. 15
Clifton Community Hall (126 Second Street)
All meeting times: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
