WASHINGTON (KKCO) - Absurd and unfair – that’s what U.S. Senator Michael Bennet had to say Wednesday about infants in Colorado being denied health insurance.

The Senator made the remarks on the floor of the U.S. Senate Wednesday.

He says insurance policies must be changed and used 11 News Today Morning Anchor Bernie Lange’s baby as an example.

Four-month-old baby Alex was denied health insurance because he was considered too big for his age.

Rocky Mountain Health Plans has since reversed its policy and Alex is now covered.

Bennet says insurance companies need to get rid of all denials of coverage based on pre-existing conditions.
