Hats, gloves, coats, sleeping bags, all given away on Friday thanks to the V.A. Hospital's annual "Stand Down".

The event offers veterans in need a chance to get those essential goods, but also countless other services, for free.

Veterans were able to get free coats, sleeping bags, towels, blankets, clothes, boots, and more, plus got free access to more than thirty services like dental screenings, flu shots, even haircuts.

Veterans in need we spoke with say it is not only a great hand up, but it also means more to many of them than most can imagine.

The event will open up on Saturday morning to everyone.

It starts at 9:00 A.M. will be located at the Old City Market warehouse, on the corner of First and West Colorado.
