GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - On Sunday more than 150 people raced to support stem cell treatments.

All proceeds of the race went to help fund Rusty Leech's trip to India for his stem cell treatments.

The race started at 10 a.m. and was walker and runner friendly.
The walkers kept to the sidewalks and the runners ran around the tennis courts, soccer and softball fields to complete their three miles.

Leech said he was honored by all the support, "There's more people than I expected. We were expecting 150 and I don't know how many we have, but at least that many."

This will be Leech's fourth trip to India, and as a result he is able to start taking small steps again.
