Haunted house benefits local thespians

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Get scared for $10 this Halloween at the Frightmares Haunted House. With a clown room, a corn maze and some dedicated actors from Mesa State, there’s little chance you’ll walk out unfazed.

The Frightmares Haunted House, located in the Red Pointe Cliffe shopping center on North Ave., is designed to not only spook its customers on Halloween, but also to benefit the Drama Society at Mesa State.

The members of the Mesa State Drama Society do their part by donning creepy costumes and hiding throughout the haunted house, ready to jump out and scare any passerby.

Some of the actors chatted with Lauren Whitney on 11 News Live Today Friday morning, and say it’s really intended for kids 12 and up, a there are many references to modern-day horror films like Saw and, well, it’s just really creepy.
