MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) - Don’t boos and drive this Halloween.

That’s the message from law enforcement across the state because they’re stepping up patrols in the hunt for adult trick-or–treaters who turn into drunk drivers.

Somewhere in Mesa County Friday there’s a DUI checkpoint being set up by the State Patrol, and the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department has increased patrol while the Grand Junction Police Department has saturation patrols scheduled.

All stepped up enforcement starts Friday night around 6 p.m. and goes through 3 a.m. Monday.
