Montrose, Colo. (KKCO) --- Later this week, 96-year-old Montrose resident, Lucille Tyrrell, will be honored for her 78 years as a member of The Masonic Society.

Tyrrell, who joined her local chapter in Illinois at 18-years-old, says that her family was involved in The Masonic Society well before she was born.

Her daughter, Lu Anne Tyrrell, says that it was so important to them that Lucille's father once even held a record for being the oldest member of the shrine band.

Since moving to Montrose to be closer to family, Lucille, and her dog Gidget, have become well-known and well-liked in the community.

Tyrrell will receive her overdue 75-year membership pin on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the local Masonic Lodge.
