Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting

The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday morning.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday morning.

Officials says just after 1:20 Saturday morning, officers were dispatched to an address in the central part of the city on reports that there had been a shooting. A more specific address is not being released at this time.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man in the backyard with a single gun shot wound to the chest. Officials say he was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery for his injury.

Investigators say interviews have been conducted and all people involved in the incident have been indentified. Officials say no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
