Booster H1N1 shots available for Mesa County kids

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) - The Mesa County Health Department is preparing to distribute H1N1 booster shots to kids in need of their second dose.

Appointment bookings for both injectable and mist vaccines for kids six to 35 months will start Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 8:30 a.m. for appointments Wednesday, Dec. 2 and Thursday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To schedule an appointment click the link below and hit the red button that says 'appointment'. The scheduling Web site will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and will close when appointments are filled.

You can also call the Health Department at 683-6636 to schedule an appointment. Staff will start booking appointments Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or until all appointments are filled.

Health Department officials say kids under the age of nine need to get two doses of the vaccine at least 28 days apart. Appointments Dec. 1 and 2 are only for kids needing a second dose.
