Anonymous donor makes big contribution to 11 Cares Food Drive, but we're still collecting

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The 11 Cares for Families Christmas Food Drive received a huge boost from a very generous viewer Wednesday.

While your donations continue to pour in, workers at the Salvation Army are sorting through them and getting them ready for families in need.

One 11 News viewer, who wanted to remain anonymous, gave us a check for $800.

Through our partners we’ll be able to turn that donation into 4,000 pounds of food.

Capt. Dan Wilson of the Salvation Army thanked the viewer and says, "He read about Jesus multiplying the fish and loaves and just wanted to do something to multiply the amount of food we're able to give people.”

Whether it’s a donation of $800 or one canned food item, ever little bit helps! So far, we’ve collected just under 13,000 pounds of food.
