GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - It’s Older Driver Safety Awareness Week, and many seniors and their families will at some point struggle with discussing when to give up the keys.
If you’re concerned for the safety of your loved one or the safety of other drivers when they’re on the road you should probably talk about getting them out from behind the wheel.
AAA of Colorado says there are tools to help older drivers be safer drivers and that options do exist for seniors who can no longer drive that will still help them feel independent.
AAA says talking is the first step, and being prepared with options to continue their independence will help ease them into the idea.
