GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- If you're looking for a christmas tree to buy, Boy Scout Troop 303 opened their Christmas tree lot this morning.

This is the 30th annual Christmas tree fundraiser for the troop, and to kick off the event Mayor Pro–Temp Teresa Coons bought the first tree to adorn the house of a local Habitat for Humanity family.

The Janes family picked out their perfect tree and were surprised to find out they received the troops first sale of the season.

John Janes was shocked, "that's news to me... We got the first tree in the lot? Fist pump." He fist pumped his son.

Troop 303's lot is located off Highway 6 and 50 across from Gene Taylor.

The money from tree sales goes to paying for the Boy Scout's summer camp.
