GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A local man is winning his personal battle with brain cancer and Sunday night hundreds of community members showed their support by helping him win the battle against his mounting medical bills.

Sunday evening Bananas Fun Park hosted a charity dinner and silent auction for long-time Grand Junction resident Kenny Gross with all proceeds going to help pay for his treatment.

Gross says the tremendous support he’s received means everything to him and has helped him get through this experience.

Organizers say they’re unsure how much money there were able to raise at the event, but judging by the number of people who showed up, it should make a big impact.

If you were unable to attend Sunday’s event but still want to help Gross and his family, you can make a donation at the Wells Fargo Bank on North Avenue.
