Snow began falling heavier in Colorado Springs at around 5 AM this morning. On and Off Ramps and Overpasses are slick but managable.
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Grand Junction is on accident alert.
The Grand Junction Police Department began ACCIDENT ALERT around 3:45 p.m. Monday and it will continue until further notice due to the continuing snowfall which will create hazardous driving conditions and icy roads.
If you are involved in a non-injury accident the GJPD asks you please do the following:
- If possible, get vehicles involved off the roadway and moved to a safe location as soon as it's practical
- Exchange driver’s license, insurance, and registration information with all drivers involved
- Come to the Grand Junction Police Department or the Mesa Mall Sub-station during business to file an accident report within 48 hours of the incident
- The GJPD will still be responding to accidents where injury is involved, suspected intoxicated driving, hit and run accidents, and accidents requiring towing services to clear the roadway.
Once conditions have subsided this alert will be cancelled and officers will respond to non-injury accidents as normal.
