GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Police say driving too fast on slippery roads caused traffic to be backed up across the 5th Street bridge Monday night.

A red Toyota pickup truck lost control, crossed over the median of the bridge, and was struck in the side by a red Jeep. The Jeep's engine caught on fire and came to rest on its side.

The accident happened around 3 p.m.

One person was sent to the hospital but there were no serious injuries reported.

The driver of the truck will be given a citation for driving too fast in snowy conditions.
