GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - In preparation for his annual Christmas Eve deliveries Santa is spending some of his time reading letters from kids around the world.

Locally the Post Office is busy sending out his responses.

The Postmaster says several elves have come down from the North Pole to help Santa write back to everyone who sent him a letter.

Since last year, Santa has received a lot more letters from kids in the Grand Valley.

Postmaster Daniel Reyes says, “"We're probably getting at least double what we've had in the years past. I would say in the neighborhood of 500."

Santa’s elves say they’ll respond to every letter they get from the Grand Valley. They hope to get everything sent out before Christmas Eve so they can get back to the North Pole.
