GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- If you feel bloated and stuffed from holiday dinners, you're not the only one.
Those Christmas calories may already be eating at your physique.
Derek Trombetta with Powerhouse Gym says that's the best way to drop those holiday pounds is commit to working out.
He says, "Some of biggest things to do- simple things you can be doing are come in, try and do weights 3 to 4 times a week, try get in here doing cardio anywhere from 4 to 6 times a week."
Trombetta says to focus on the entire body and use ab exercises as warm ups.
Also he says the most effective cardio technique is for "women the stair stepper is very good, men getting on a treadmill. Even walking on a treadmill at a 10% incline is really good to do."
Trombetta says as long as you lead an active lifestyle, you can still induldge a little bit this week. Just keep it in moderation. He says splurging a little on New Years is okay as long as it's not for multiple days.
However, he warns that your New Years' cocktails will stick with you long into 2010. "That's where alcohol can get you is because it has higher alcohol calorie content and your body ends up storing that pretty readily."
