GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The list of people seeking the GOP nomination for House District 54 is one shorter as of Friday.

Candidate Duncan MacArthur has withdrawn from the race.

In an email to his supporters he says he was looking forward to the idea of serving Western Colorado in the Legislature but that it’s too great a financial burden.

He says instead, he’ll be assisting other conservative candidates with their campaigns.

MacArthur announced his candidacy in October. Other candidates currently are Ray Scott and Bob Hislop.
