GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- A teenager is in the hospital after being shot by a friend.
Around 7 PM on Friday night, two teenagers were playing with a rifle when it went off, shooting one friend in the chest.
Police say the wound was serious, but the victim is stabilized.
Officials say the victim was a visitor to the house and the shooter lived at the home on 25 Road and F 1/4. The mom of the teenager who fired the gun was at home at the time of the shooting.
The shooting was reported as an accident, but the Grand Junction Police Department is investigating the case further.
