GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A local middle school student is doing anything and everything he can to raise money to make a dream of his come true, and all he needs is a job, any job, of any kind.

His name is Camren Thomas and he is a 7th Grader at East Middle School. He plays the cello in his orchestra class and hopes to join his classmates in an all-out field trip to New York City. Problem is, he needs $2,000 to get there and at the moment, he's pretty far off.

You would think he was looking for some sort of handout, but that isn't the case. He wants to earn this field trip by working, "I'm looking to see if there are any jobs around your house that I could do to raise money," he says.

So far, he's put in time doing all sorts of jobs, "Shoveling snow... I've planted 100 tulips, I've cut plants, I've mowed lawns."

Those gigs earned more than $700 thus far, but the job hunt is getting tougher and he needs someone, anyone, to hire him for a daily job to get the money by March.

Send 11 News Reporter Joe Gagnon an e-mail at if you think you can hire him for help around your house and Joe will forward him your job opportunity.
