GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - After seeing the devastation in Haiti, many have felt compelled to do something to help. This Valentine's Day one local tattoo shop held a benefit to help raise money for the Red Cross Haiti Disaster Relief.

There have been bake sales, food drives and telethons to raise money for the Red Cross Haiti Disaster Relief, but no one has had a tattoo fundraiser before, until now.

"So far we're up to about $2,000 and the night's still young," says Paul Roberts, co-owner of Tattmandu Tattoo Studios.

Brave locals have been getting inked all for a good cause.

"Just slammed. There's been a line all day," says Roberts.

Heart tattoos are being offered at a discount, but if you don't want to show your love forever, all other tattoos have a price break too.

Janet Anderson has been working with other organizations to help Haiti and when she heard about a tattoo fundraiser, she jumped on board.

"The idea that I can do the tattoo for me to remember that I helped donate with my tattoo and my time to help send money to the people in need, that's pretty awesome," she says.

It was the chance to help others that brought Kelsey Reddin in the door.

"To me, it's not really about the tattoo. It's more about being able to help someone else out because the luxuries I have here, they don't have. So the tattoo is a bonus, but being able to help someone else out is really what it's all about," says Reddin.

Tattmandu Tattoo Studios raised around $5,000 for Red Cross Haiti Disaster Relief.
