FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO) - Firefighters with the Lower Valley Fire Protection District say a Fruita home is a total loss after a fire ripped through it Monday.

The fire broke out just before 3 p.m. in the 1200 Block of Lonnie Way.

The Lower Valley Fire Protection District says it appears the blaze started on the home’s porch. All seven residents were inside when they noticed the flames. They all were able to get out uninjured.

The American Red Cross is helping the family.

No word on what caused the fire.
