GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Friday and Saturday night, Mesa County Fairgrounds will be revving with excitement for the Monster Truck Show.
But earlier Friday, a couple of trucks made a pit stop at the VA Medical Center. Vets, patients and hospital staff were treated to a close up look at the “Pit Bull” Monster Truck. The truck stands 12 feet tall, is 12 feet wide and weighs in at more than 10,000 pounds.
Driver Charles Benns says last year, he promised to bring the truck back to Grand Junction to show the vets who couldn’t make it to the show and there was no way he was going to break his promise.
"And the reason I'm here today is to say thank you and to honor and raise awareness of this very special place down here where are heroes are right here in Grand Junction today and man they are my heroes,” says Charles Benns, Pit Bull driver.
You can catch the 1500 horse power Pit Bull Friday and Saturday night at the Monster Truck Show at 7 pm. You can still get tickets at the gate. It all takes place at the Mesa County Fairgrounds.
